The Mellor Partnership will only work with clients whom we have visited and whose brief we fully understand. We will also only work for clients for whom we know we can deliver the right candidates.

We recognise that we have a duty to provide our clients with the very best people who fit their needs and working culture and our team delivers the same high standard of service irrespective of the position we are searching for.
We place great importance on our search methodology. Our research and interview processes are designed to ensure the broadest possible coverage of the marketplace.

We establish with the client the competencies, values, achievements and background the client is looking for in their ideal candidate. Our research team then identifies suitable source companies and key individuals within those companies.

We then approach and speak to each of these individuals to ensure they meet the necessary criteria. Comprehensive interviews are conducted on a face-to-face basis with the most suitable candidates.

At the end of the process, we draw up a short-list of the top candidates and present their CVs to our client for discussion, prior to interview.
Following the interview stage, we handle all negotiations on final terms – our neutral position allows us to play a crucial part at this point. We will then take full verbal references on the successful candidate.

The purpose of this process is to actively target the most qualified and most successful candidates available. The majority are not looking to change jobs and so cannot be sourced through any other means.

We will always give best advice and only recommend candidates we believe to be the best people for the role and the best fit for the business.

Search Options

The Mellor Partnership has four main search options:

Multiple Assignment Clients

We operate on behalf of our Multiple Assignment Clients under a regular fee arrangement (which is credited against specific recruitment fees). This is a win:win approach designed to help our client’s cash flow.

Retained search

The Retained Search is for more complex or confidential briefs. This is a premium service that provides an extensive search of the market place on a retained basis.

These clients receive the full benefit of our added value services (click on Added value in the menu bar for more information).

Contingent Search

With this search we only get paid when we have placed a candidate and we receive a percentage of their first year salary and guaranteed cash benefits. We do not invoice on pension/bonus.

Typically this is used for non-board level appointments when the resource pool is much larger and finding a suitable candidate is less challenging.

Advertised Searches

With an Advertised Search we will help you design and implement an advertisement, handle all responses, and identify the best candidates.

Candidates

Candidates are our clients too. Candidates are treated with respect and helped through what can be a stressful process.

The Mellor Partnership has a duty to provide its candidates with the very best opportunity to demonstrate their skills and abilities within an environment that will enable them to excel. Our strong ethics and high standards mean we interview all candidates face to face and only send their details to clients with their prior agreement.

We believe a client should be able to form an opinion of the candidate based on how the candidate sells themselves and, therefore, we do not rewrite a candidate’s CV.

We make sure our candidates are fully briefed on the available opportunity. In order to do so, we will only work with clients whom we have visited and whose brief we fully understand. Candidates can view showreels, look through press cuttings and will be helped develop an understanding of the client company and the people they will be meeting.

We will always give the best advice and only recommend a role if we believe it to be a good opportunity for the candidate.

We ensure our candidates are aware of the recruitment process. As soon as we have news from our clients, we inform our candidates.

Career Advice

The Mellor Partnership has extensive knowledge of business and of marketing communications. We will advise candidates of appropriate career development. We will also advise candidates of inappropriate applications.

Post Placement Mentoring

We are determined that every placement we make is a success for both candidate and client. We help forge more productive, happier working relationships by retaining contact with both client and candidate long into the future.

As an added benefit The Mellor Partnership provides a two hour coaching session for every candidate we place. We have joined forces with Jane Capper, a professional coach specialising in the media and communications sector and formerly Planning Director of DDB London to provide this service.
